Allen After Hours / The Muse in the Museum: A Night of Poetry

Inspired by works in the Allen’s collection, Northeast Ohio poets of all levels and backgrounds will share poems responding to works currently on view at the Allen. After the reading, explore the museum and try writing your own poetry about art through in-gallery activities.

Submit it for consideration using this form. Poems are due on April 1.

Poems should be written in response to, describing, or inspired by works of visual art currently on view at the Allen. We invite you to come see the artworks in person, Tuesday–Saturday 10 am–5 pm. Admission is always free.

Poems will be selected to create a balanced program for the evening. Some poets will be invited to read their work at The Muse in the Museum event, and a larger selection of poems will be published as a booklet and available at the event. By submitting your poems, you are giving us permission for the poem to be reprinted.
