Started in 2016, the Oberlin-Como Piano Academy is an exclusive partnership with Italy's esteemed International Piano Academy Lake Como. Each year, up to three students, selected from applicants worldwide, begin a two-year program of study through Oberlin Conservatory. Called Oberlin-Como Fellows, these exemplary young musicians work with Oberlin faculty and internationally renowned master teachers throughout the year.

This year saw the loss of three founding members of the International Piano Academy Lake Como: Leon Fleisher, Dmitri Bashkirov, and Fou Ts'ong.  The festival is dedicated to these legendary artists.
