One of the things that makes Oberlin such a great place is all the cool stuff that’s happening all around us. To help make these events more visible to the campus and wider communities, the Office of Communications manages the online Oberlin College Events Calendar where anyone on campus can submit an event. Once approved, the event will be listed on Oberlin’s main website where it will be discovered by all kinds of website visitors.
To maximize reach, be sure to submit your event to the calendar well in advance of the event date. Make sure you have some key information and resources ready before visiting the event submission page. All submissions must include:
- A succinct title
- Date and start time
- Brief description
- Contact information (name, email, phone)
- Name of the department, office, or student organization that is running the event
Depending on the nature of the event, you may also want to provide:
- A photo (you must have the owner's permission to use it on the web)
- Ticket information and link
- Registration link
- Virtual event link (such as Zoom)
Our calendar is built on Localist, a leading events calendar system. The calendar also interacts with other systems, exporting all events to our main website and importing events from external calendars such as Athletics.
