Admissions Ambassador

Oberlin Admissions Ambassadors play a crucial role in shaping our visitors' experience -  Ambassadors act as overnight hosts for prospective students and friendly faces during admissions events. Admissions Ambassadors should be friendly, enthusiastic, outgoing, open-minded, and comfortable sharing living space with prospective students overnight. Ambassadors must live in a campus residence hall, co-op or program house (no village or off-campus housing). 

Campus Tour Guide

Tour guides encourage interest in Oberlin College and Conservatory while accurately informing prospective students and their families about the programs, opportunities, and experiences unique to Oberlin. In addition to leading tours of the campus, Tour Guides also serve on admissions panels during visit programs. Students who are second-semester first-years and above may apply.

Interviewer

Successful Campus Tour Guides are invited to also conduct prospective student interviews during their third-year, fourth-year, and fifth-years at Oberlin. Prior admissions experience is required to be eligible for this position. Interviewers help gauge the fit between Oberlin and prospective students, and answer prospective students' questions.

Summer Intern

Rising third-year, fourth-year, and fifth-year students may apply to serve as a summer intern, a full-time position. Interns' primary responsibilities include giving campus tours, interviewing prospective students, interacting with prospective students and families, assisting in information sessions, and replying to prospective student inquiries. 

Admissions Senior Fellow

The primary role of the Admissions Senior Fellows is to represent Oberlin College to visiting students and families by leading admissions information sessions to prospective student visitors and their guests. Fellows will also conduct admissions interviews with prospective students and complete evaluation reports of these interviews. Additional office projects will be assigned, depending on the Fellow’s interests and skill set. All Fellows are expected to assist during campus visit programs and contribute to the social media/ communications efforts of the admissions office. Fellows will not only offer valuable student perspectives on Oberlin College to visiting students and their families but also will gain exposure and experience in all cycles of the college admissions process.
