Ohio Voting Disruption due to Covid-19

Voter Friendly Campus Initiative

To all students who are registered to vote in Oberlin: Absentee voting for the March 17, 2020, primary election has been extended.

You must request an absentee ballot by mail, and then return it by mail. Ballot requests must be received by April 25 and ballots returned by April 28.

If you are registered to vote in Oberlin but did not yet cast a ballot, follow these steps:

  1. Confirm your registration and address at voterlookup.ohiosos.gov.

  2. Go to the Ohio Secretary of State absentee ballot request website and fill out the form completely following the online directions.

    • Fill out your name and registration address as they appear in your voter record

    • Check "Select this box to send your ballot to a different address. (If different from home address)”

    • Fill out the address where you would like to receive your ballot.

    • Provide one of the requested forms of ID. You do not need the College utility bill if you provide the last 4 digits of your social security number.

    • The election date is 03/17/2020 (even though it has passed)

    • Choose the type of ballot you would like to receive (Partisan or Issues only)

    • Click “Open Printer Friendly pdf”

    • Print your application.

    • SIGN the application

    • Mail it (with proper postage) to:

  3. When you receive your ballot, return it without delay (again by mail with proper postage).
