ObieSafe: Rapid tests available starting at 2 p.m. today (12/22)

December 22, 2021 12:00 PM

Office of Communications

As announced yesterday, faculty, staff, and students can pick up an at-home rapid test this afternoon or tomorrow.

Rapid test kit pickup is available at Hales Gym:

  • Today, Wednesday, December 22
    2:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  • Tomorrow, Thursday, December 23
    8:00 am to noon

Enter Hales Gym through the Cat in the Cream entrance and maintain six feet of distance.

Each Oberlin student, faculty, and staff member may have one test kit only. You will be asked to swipe your Oberlin ID to obtain a test.

We ask that you only take a test if you are symptomatic or believe that you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive.

Remember that close contact is defined as someone who has been within six feet of a positive person for 15 minutes or longer up to two days prior to their symptom onset. If both people were wearing a mask at the time, you are not deemed a close contact.

Anyone who tests positive with the at-home test should take a picture of their positive result next to their Oberlin ID and send it to obiesafe@oberlin.edu so that contact tracing can be done. Include your phone number in the email.
