Biography

Bernie Fischlowitz-Roberts works with students and recent alumni applying to postgraduate fellowships and those planning to pursue a career in the health professions.  In his role in the Office of Fellowships and Awards, he provides assistance to students applying for a variety of postgraduate fellowships, working primarily with applicants to the Fulbright program.  In his role working with the Pre-Med/Pre-Health Advisor, he provides a range of assistance to the Pre-Med Committee and applicants to medical school.

Fischlowitz-Roberts previously served as the summer funding coordinator in the Career Development Center, managing the competitive process by which students apply for funding to cover expenses associated with unpaid or low-paid summer internships or other career-related summer experiences.

Before coming to Oberlin, he ran a small consulting business, specializing in research, writing, analysis, and advocacy on environmental policy issues.  Before starting his consulting business, Fischlowitz-Roberts worked for a series of environmental nonprofit organizations.

He enjoys reading, watching documentary films, and vegan cooking.
