Biography

Lakshan Yamudith Thalapalage is a Visiting Instructor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Oberlin College. He earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Iowa State University, where his doctoral research focused on the design, synthesis, and characterization of persistent organic radicals and stimuli-responsive molecular materials. His research explores the relationship between molecular structure and the magnetic, optical, and electronic properties of open-shell systems, with applications in dynamic covalent chemistry and magnetic resonance.
