Prax House
As a first-year student in the BA+BFA program, Prax House is where your dual-degree experience thrives. This living-learning community brings together students who are balancing academic study with sustained artistic practice—learning how ideas move between disciplines and take shape through work.
Located in South Hall, Prax House places you close to art studio spaces, practice rooms, and shared creative spaces, along with on-site amenities such as a dance studio and a gym. The proximity matters; it allows you to move between thinking and making as part of your daily routine.
Here, you begin building a cohort with other BA+BFA students—people who, like you, are developing both intellectual depth and artistic range. Together, you’ll start to understand how different fields inform your work, whether you’re combining visual art with writing, performance with research, or exploring new forms altogether.
Residential assistants support the community and help you navigate arts-related opportunities across campus, as you begin shaping your own path through the program.
Prax House is an early step in the BA+BFA journey: a place where your ideas are explored, your practice takes form, and your education starts to connect across disciplines, building a cohort grounded in shared work from the start.
