Biography

Christopher J. Jorgenson began working at Oberlin in July 2026 and currently serves as the Assistant Vice President and Dean for Intercultural Engagement.

In his role, Jorgenson oversees the five offices comprising the Center for Intercultural Engagement (CIE): Office for Disability and Access; Multicultural Resource Commons; Gender, Sexuality & Attraction Initiatives; International Student and Scholar Service; and the Office for Religious and Spiritual Life. Having navigated higher education as a Queer, first-generation college student in the rural Midwest, Jorgenson looks to foster a sense of belonging and care for each and every Obie, while offering opportunities to critically engage with intercultural community building and social justice.

Outside of his professional career, Christopher can be found with friends, in a movie theater, on a plane, or lost in a book.
