Biography
Jahn Carlos Neri (1996) is a New Media Artist and Educator born in Arkansas. His artistic practice began through music, studying piano and jazz in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, where he also studied theater. His early engagement with sound and performance developed into a broader fascination with analog and digital technologies and the different languages they make possible.
He holds an M.A. in Contemporary, Technological, and Performative Art from the University of the Basque Country (EHU), Euskadi, Spain, and a B.F.A. in Contemporary Art from the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí, Mexico. His work has been exhibited and presented in Mexico, the United States, and Europe.
As an educator, Neri has developed and taught interdisciplinary courses and laboratories in art and technology, with experience in video mapping, interactive systems, virtual reality, audiovisual production, and intermedial performance. He previously taught at the Faculty of Habitat at the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí and currently serves as 4D Media Manager and Lecturer at Oberlin College.
