We welcome Allison Walker as our inaugural Director of Information Security at the Center for Information Technology. This role marks the launch of our new Information Security unit to continue CIT’s commitment to strengthening the college’s cyber shields by developing a growing information security program.

Allison, a CISSP-certified U.S. Navy veteran, has extensive cybersecurity experience, having worked in the corporate, education, and healthcare sectors. She officially became part of our team on December 4, 2023.

Her previous position as Director of Information Security at RPM International has given her the skills to lead complex security initiatives, fostering an information security culture that will be invaluable in her work to coordinate and grow the information security program.

Establishing our Information Security unit is a significant step forward for CIT and the college, underlining our commitment to protect our digital assets proactively. The new information security unit objectives include:

  • Growing a solid cybersecurity framework via policy development.
  • Promoting a culture of information security awareness within the college community.
  • Compliance and handling information security risks associated with third-party entities.
  • Partnering with other CIT members to enhance vulnerability management and incident response strategies.
  • Coordinating protocols for disaster recovery and business continuity.

We invite everyone to engage with and support this newly established unit and extend a warm welcome to Allison Walker.
