IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Lorain County Transit (LCT) cancelled its Route 33 running from Oberlin to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Oberlin College has made alternative arrangements - click here for the details and the airport shuttle schedule for Fall break, October 17 - 25, 2009.

PLEASE NOTE:

As you make travel plans and purchase plane tickets to and from the United States for the 2009-10 academic year, please keep in mind the following dates:

Fall Break: October 17-25
(Residence halls open; dining facilities closed)

Thanksgiving Break: November 26-29
(Residence halls open; one dining facility open)

Fall Semester ends: December 19

Winter/Holiday Break: December 19-January 3, 2010
(All college buildings closed; students have to leave campus)

Winter Term: January 6-February 1
(Residence halls open; dining plans only by subscription)

Spring 2010 Semester classes start February 8

Spring Break: March 27-April 4
(Residence halls open; dining facilities closed)

Spring semester ends: May 23

Residence halls close: May 24
(Residence halls remain open ONLY for graduates and students working for commencement)

Graduates and commencement workers leave campus: May 31-June 1

Please note that the college does NOT allow final exam time changes for personal travel reasons, so we advise you to book a plane ticket for the last day of the semester to avoid potential time conlficts with final exams. The final exam schedule is published at the very start of each semester (check the Registrar's office website), so as soon as your course schedule is finalized and you've received the course syllabi from your professors, you should be able to figure out when your final exams will be.
