Biography

Ichigo Mina Kaneko’s research interests broadly include ecocriticism, Japanese literature and visual culture, East Asian cinema, media theory, new materialism, and translation studies. Funded by a Fulbright-Hays fellowship, her current book project examines mushrooms and mushroom clouds in postwar Japanese visual culture, from images of the atomic bomb to slime molds. Formerly, she was associate covers editor of The New Yorker magazine and editorial associate and foreign rights manager at TOON Books.
