The Counseling Center's primary purpose is to provide psychological support as you pursue your academic and personal goals, and to enhance the quality of your experience at Oberlin College.

At the Counseling Center you may discuss and explore freely, in confidence, any problems, feelings, or fears that are important to you. The ultimate goal is to help you grow in self-understanding, so that you can better cope with your immediate situation and with future decisions.

You will find our offices a short walk from the center of campus at 247 West Lorain Street, Suite D, in the Oberlin Health Center.

The Counseling Center staff provide assessment and short term counseling for students experiencing many of the issues related to being away from home during these significant developmental years. This resource is funded by tuition and no additional charges exist for counseling services. Referrals are made to private practitioners in the Oberlin community for conditions indicating a need for ongoing support and psychotherapy. The costs for these services are the responsiblity of the student, and frequently are supported by health insurance plans.

We are accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services (IACS)
