Why Advertise with Us?

With a circulation of 3,500, The Oberlin Review reaches the student body, faculty, alumni subscribers and townspeople. It is distributed for free within Oberlin, ensuring a large audience.

Undergraduates: 2,800
Faculty: 273

Readers make a point of reading advertisements as well as the news because they contain important information including campus notices, schedules and social events.

Parents return to campus to visit this weekend.

Winter Break Issue: Dec. 13
The last issue before winter break and Winter Term in January.

First Spring Issue: Feb. 8
The spring semester welcome back issue.

Spring Break Issue: March 14
The issue just before the week of spring vacation. Great for advertising vacation getaways!

Commencement Edition: May 23
An expanded edition of the Review distributed free to alumni, parents and graduating seniors during Reunion weekend.

Local Rate:
$11 per column inch (column inch = 1 7/8" x 1")

Local Discount Rates:
$60 for 2 columns x 3"
$120 for 2 columns x 6"
$189 for 3 columns x 6"
$330 for half page (5 columns x 8")
$600 for full page (5 columns x 16 ")

National Rate:
$12.50 per column inch (column inch = 1 7/8" x 1")

National Discount Rates:
$69 for 2 columns x 3"
$143 for 2 columns x 6"
$217 for 3 columns x 6"
$425 for half page (5 columns x 8")
$950 for full page (5 columns x 16")

Payment must be made by cash or check in full within 30 days of the run date. All checks should be made payable to Oberlin College.

No other discounts for pre-payment or bulk advertising are currently available. Oberlin College student organizations are eligible to receive a 25% discount.

Classified-style ads are charged by the column inch as outlined above. We suggest no more than 20 words per column inch.

Deadlines:

Please review our advertising policies prior to submitting your ad.

Space reservation and ad copy must be received by 4 p.m. three days before the publication date (Tuesday for the Friday publication).

Ads can be submitted via mail or email; refer to the appropriate forms, below. Please include desired size, content and publication date(s) of the ad, as well as billing address, contact name, phone number and fax.

We accept electronic submissions in .eps, .pdf, ,jpg, and .tif format (.pdf or .tif preferred), or as an InDesign file, sent to advertisements@oberlinreview.org.

Contract Terms:

Tearsheets for display advertising are mailed with invoices.

Tearsheets are not sent to on-campus ad purchasers.

No page or position requests can be guaranteed.

The Oberlin Review may reject any advertising or limit the amount of advertising content of any issue.

The Oberlin Review reserves the right to demand cash payment prior to the publication of any advertisement.

On-Campus Advertisers:

Advertisers who have an account with the Oberlin College Controller's Office are asked to use the on-campus advertiser forms to place an ad. Students who are placing personal ads must pre-pay.

Student organizations, those organizations funded by the Student Finance Committee should use the Student Organization Ad Form.

Other on-campus organizations, including departmental and administrative offices should use the Campus Organization Form.
