Review Was Negligent

To the Editor:

I am writing to point out to the campus the rude and inconsiderate way that the Review has treated a friend of mine, [sophomore] Kasia Wawer. Kasia spent her Winter Term working on a new site design and PDA page for the Review. She put in a lot of time and effort on this project. She had approached the Review in December about the idea of making our school paper downloadable to PDA; this was her idea! Several people from the Review saw her site design and said they liked it. She was told repeatedly that her design would go up. It took several weeks for the Review to put up the PDA site. When it finally went up, Kasia discovered that all her hard work had been redone. The Review never used her site design and redid the PDA page. The Review should have at least had the decency to tell Kasia that they were not going to use her page. Instead, she was left to discover on her own that her site was not used. In addition, when Oberlin Online ran a story about the fact that the Review is now downloadable to PDA, Kasia was not even mentioned. All the credit was given to [sophomore] Jon MacDonald. When someone dedicates their time, without pay, to do some work for your organization, the least that you can do is give her credit! The Review has behaved in a deplorable fashion toward Kasia, and owes her, at the very least, an apology.
