April 26, 8:47 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department units responded to a fire alarm at the Oberlin Inn. A sprinkler valve accidentally struck by an overhead projector activated the alarm.

April 26, 4 p.m. A resident of Price Hall reported vandalism to a silkscreen painting hung in the lounge. The painting, political in nature, was torn in half and found on the floor. 

April 26, 9 p.m. A staff member at the Allen Art Building reported several unauthorized vehicles parked illegally in the loading dock area of the building. Five vehicles were cited and one vehicle was towed from the loading dock/fire lane.

April 27, 8:30 a.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department units responded to a fire alarm in Barrows Hall on the third floor. Dust from construction workers in the area activated the alarm.


April 27, 9:47 a.m. A student report
ed the theft of his bicycle from the bike rack at Noah. The only description given of the bicycle is blue in color with a detached left gear shifter. The bicycle was locked at the time of theft.

April 28, 12:47 a.m. A resident of Talcott reported the vending machine open in the basement. The product and coin box were collected and transported to the Safety and Security Office for safekeeping. The vending company was notified.

April 28, 2:58 a.m. A student staffer reported an intoxicated male student wandering the hallways at Barrows. The student was located and a roommate agreed to assist in keeping the student in his room.

April 28, 12:04 p.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department units responded to a fire alarm in the kitchen on the second floor of Stevenson Hall. Smoke from the grills activated the alarm in the hallway.

April 29, 12:18 a.m. A student requested assistance in removing a non-resident from Johnson House after a party had ended. Officers responded and a search of the building was made. The male subject left the building prior to officer's arrival.

April 29, 1:05 p.m. A student reported her bicycle, a light blue Specialized Stump Jumper, valued at $2000, missing from campus. The bicycle is registered with the City.

April 29, 2:45 p.m. A resident of East Hall reported receiving a harassing phone call. The caller befriended the student then made sexual comments. The complainant was referred to the Oberlin Police Department and the Nuisance Bureau.

April 29, 2:45 p.m. A second resident of East Hall reported receiving a harassing phone call, which became obscene in nature. The student was referred to the Oberlin Police Department and the Nuisance Bureau.

April 29, 6:19 p.m. Officers and Oberlin Fire Department units responded to a fire alarm at Stevenson Hall, central dining area. The cause of the alarm was a malfunctioning pull station.

April 30, 3:42 p.m. A resident of Price Hall reported the theft of $230.00 from a drawer in his room sometime over the weekend. The student said the room door is not always locked. 

April 30, 10:24 p.m. A staff member reported a window in the north lobby of Langston Hall was broken. A window on the west side of the north lobby was also found to have had a chair thrown through it. The incident is under investigation.

May 1, 4:07 a.m. Two students from North Hall reported receiving harassing phone calls, obscene in nature. Oberlin Police Department was notified. Information to contact the Nuisance Bureau was given to both students.

May 1, 10:00 a.m. A resident of Noah Hall reported receiving a harassing phone call, obscene in nature. The student was referred to the Oberlin Police Department and Nuisance Bureau.

May 1, 10:26 a.m. A staff member reported an altercation between an off-duty and an on-duty employee. No injuries were reported at the time of the altercation. The incident is under investigation.

May 1, 1:31 p.m. A student requested transportation to Student Health for treatment after injuring her toe on the curb at the corner of Professor and Lorain Street.

May 1, 5:02 p.m. A student reported receiving a harassing phone call obscene in nature. The complainant was referred to the Oberlin Police Department and the Nuisance Bureau.

May 1, 6:45 p.m. A resident of Langston Hall reported receiving three harassing phone calls obscene in nature. The complainant was referred to Oberlin Police Department and the Nuisance Bureau.
