A student should meet with a potential sponsor in October or November.
Early contact is especially important for students planning an individual project. A student’s academic advisor may be a suitable sponsor or may be able to suggest others. A student can also find potential sponsors by looking in the Catalog , where most College of Arts and Sciences departments list the winter-term interests of their faculty members.
For students interested in a career-related or community service winter-term project, advisors and numerous resources are available to assist in identifying resources and opportunities. If a student proposing an individual project has difficulty finding a sponsor, the student should seek the aid of a department chair or dean.
