Undergraduate research experiences offer an invaluable opportunity for students to both deepen their academic knowledge and explore areas of study not offered through the formal curriculum. The Oberlin Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (OSURF) seeks to provide students with valuable mentored research experiences that promote the development of academic skills such as critical thinking, synthesizing information, and formal argumentation as well as broader professional skills including time management, project planning, and communication. Additionally, this program aims to promote greater diversity and sense of belonging in a range of student identities in quantitative fields at Oberlin. The program is open to students conducting quantitative research requiring intensive faculty mentorship who meet the requirements for eligibility.
