A Lorain County native, Reed served as economic and housing development officer for the city of Oberlin for seven years. In that position, she fostered relationships with local governments, businesses, and civic groups, with an emphasis on increasing opportunities for economic growth. Long an active member of Oberlin’s civic community, Reed has worked closely with the Historic Preservation Commission, Oberlin MainStreet and Chamber, Zion CDC, and the Oberlin Community Improvement Corporation, among other groups.  She began her appointment as special assistant to the president for community and government relations in October 2012.

Reed earned a bachelor’s degree in urban studies at Cleveland State University and an associate’s degree in liberal arts at Lorain County Community College.
