The administration of Oberlin in Italy wishes to thank all those who expressed an interest in the summer opera program. Unfortunately, due to the low number of applications, we regret to announce that we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2019 program.

It is not known at this time what the future holds for Oberlin in Italy, but please know that all of us at Oberlin Conservatory are grateful for everyone's time and talent over the years.

For 31 seasons this is where aspiring artists have experienced life not as a student, but as an opera professional.

This four-week intensive opera program for the collegiate, pre-professional singer (18 years and older) combines language and musical study with Italian cultural immersion. Program participants work closely with a faculty of internationally distinguished artists, teachers, coaches, conductors, and stage directors. You will develop your singing-acting craft, musical interpretation, and artistry—all in the heart of Tuscany.

Productions: Two fully staged operas plus an opera scenes performance.

The opportunities provided by the Oberlin-in-Italy program laid the foundation for me as an artist. The immersive nature of the program allowed me to experience life not as a student, but as an opera professional. I still find myself drawing on my summer experiences in my career.
