Preea Leelah specializes in eighteenth-century French studies. Her current research centers on race, gender, female criminality and deviancy in France and French colonial societies. She also has teaching and research interests in the French Enlightenment and Counter-Enlightenment traditions, visual culture, and technology in language acquisition. At Oberlin College she teaches all level of French language, literature and culture courses, and have designed several upper level courses in her field of research.
