Licensed Practical Nurse Stephanie Tovo wears many hats in Oberlin’s COVID-19 testing center as a test kit packer, temperature screener, and staff organizer. Learn more about Tovo, including her other duties, in this week’s Behind the Mask.

What is your professional title? LPN [Licensed Practical Nurse]

How long have you been in this profession? 12 years

What does your job entail at Oberlin's testing center? As a lead LPN, I do a variety of tasks such as conduct nasal COVID-19 tests, flu swabs and flu shots, registration, temperature screening, assist with packaging specimens, staffing organization, assist in everyday operations, and most importantly provide good customer service.

What are you looking forward to after the pandemic? I am super excited to be able to celebrate my kids’ birthdays, as well as being able to carefully make our way back around family and friends.

What’s the best thing that happened to you this year? I have become closer to Jesus, and I was baptized on March 7.

What do you do for fun? I enjoy swimming, kayaking, fishing, riding horses, spending time outdoors with friends and family, and being out in the community helping people.

Favorite foods? Pizza!!!

Favorite quote? “Though nobody can go back and make a new beginning, anyone can start over and make a new ending.”
