Professor Charmaine Chua presents her "last lecture" to a large audience in Dye Lecture Hall. Chua was selected by a number of first-year students living in Oberlin's Program Housing as their most intriguing and inspirational professor. When asked to give her last lecture, she chose "Try Shit; Dare to Fail: Collective Possibility In and Against Capitalism’s Chokehold.’’ The last lecture became nationally recognized in 2007, when Professor Randy Pausch at Carnegie Mellon University gave an inspirational last lecture --“Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams”--after learning he had terminal cancer.
