BA, high honors, comparative American studies and environmental studies and a minor in law and society, Oberlin College, 2020
Nathan Carpenter is the director of the Peer Advising Leaders (PAL) and Sophomore Opportunities and Academic Resources (SOAR) programs. In that role, he develops and implements programming that ties together academic experiences, career development, and extracurricular interests to smooth the transition to Oberlin life and learning.
Both programs use a cohort model to support academic advising, connect students to cocurricular opportunities such as research and internships, and help students envision meaningful pathways for their first two years of college and beyond.
Carpenter received a BA at Oberlin College with high honors in comparative American studies and environmental studies and a minor in law and society. While a student, he served for two years as editor-in-chief of the Oberlin Review, Oberlin’s student-run publication of record. He also worked with the PAL and SOAR programs from the time that each was established.
