Maliyah Stevens is the AmeriCorps College Guide for the Ninde Scholars Program at Oberlin High School. She was born in Oberlin, but moved to Kent, Ohio as a young child. She and her mother moved back to Oberlin, where she graduated from Oberlin High School in 2017. During that time, Maliyah was a part of the Ninde Scholars Program, the National Honors Society and the orchestra. Maliyah is currently a senior at Cleveland State University, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in health science. In addition to her involvement in AmeriCorps, she is also involved with the Urban Health Fellows at CSU. Her passions involve traveling, painting, new places, exercising, cooking, journaling and reading thrillers and she loves to watch crime shows like Law and Order and Forensic Files. Maliyah is so excited to be working in the school that she grew up in and to be able to help students with their postsecondary education and careers.
