In my own college experience, I found myself in classrooms where students were asking tough questions of one another; it was the first time I really examined my own opinions critically—and learned so much! This interaction between passionate students exchanging ideas in (and out of) the classroom is what draws me to the liberal arts.

After receiving my bachelor’s degree in linguistics and German literature and cultural history from Columbia University, I journeyed to a small alpine village in western Austria as an English teaching assistant. There I chatted with students as they decided their futures—choosing between different types of schools, different majors, and even different countries!  Working with students during this exciting time of their lives as they chose a new community and home for the next four years is incredibly rewarding work. This, along with my love of travel, makes college admissions a perfect fit.

After returning to my alma mater to work in admissions for four years and receiving a master’s degree in international education development and higher education from Teachers College, I joined the Oberlin admissions team to share my passion for the liberal arts with young people who are embarking on the college journey. Oberlin is an incredible community of lifelong learners and students who are unafraid to follow their passions and change the world. I look forward to meeting you and sharing all of the amazing opportunities that Oberlin has to offer!
