About The Project

During my trip to Zimbabwe, I will visit artists, artist communities, and art education sites to learn about the cultural diversity of the Zimbabwean peoples, and especially their desire to formulate and actualize citizen-led and community-based solutions through arts and arts education. Of particular focus are the performing, literary, and visual arts cultures of Zimbabwe.

About Rebecca Telford-Marx

Rebecca Telford-Marx is a native of Durham, North Carolina and is a third-year double-degree student at Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music, where she is the recipient of a Conservatory Dean’s Award and a National Merit Scholar award. She is currently pursuing degrees in violin performance and creative writing. Rebecca has served as concertmaster of the Oberlin Chamber orchestra and her prose-poetry piece coastal voices will appear in the forthcoming issue of Oberlin’s literary magazine The Plum Creek Review. Outside of music and academics she enjoys intramural basketball and soccer.
