Innovation and Impact: Past Participants

Mecky Kuijpers

Mecky Kuijpers, co-COO of the Allen All-In initiative as a freshman at Oberlin College, is from Brooklyn, New York. She is interested in pursuing a career in both accessibility in museums and neuroscience, with a focus in disability. She attended the first-year seminar, Disability, offered by Professor Elizabeth Hamilton, Oberlin’s section 504 coordinator. Mecky spent her first winter term exploring and researching the issue of accessibility in metropolitan museums in the New York area, with advisement from Professor Hamilton. Through this research, Mecky participated in touch tours and low visibility art classes. At Oberlin College, Mecky is also on the Equestrian team.
