Matt Segall is a saxophonist and composer from Palo Alto, California. He began his musical studies on the piano at 8. Settling on the tenor saxophone at 12, he began to take an active interest in composition and improvisation. Segall is currently enrolled in the Oberlin’s Double Degree program studying jazz, where he leads two of his own groups playing primarily original music. While at Oberlin, Segall developed an interest in concert booking and arts entrepreneurship. He is now known for bringing some of the most brilliant and best received musical artists and thinkers to Oberlin’s campus, including Steve Lehman, Yosvany Terry and Kneebody.
