Student Participant

Kopo, an international student from Kanye, Botswana, is in Oberlin College of Science and Arts’s Class of 2018 where she is a Bonner Scholar and serves as the current treasurer for the student run community service group Immerse Yourself In Service . While currently undeclared, Kopo is interested in Economics and Geology. Born and raised in a small town she began to be more aware of the problems of education accessibility by students residing in rural parts of Botswana. She went to class with students who had to walk up to 10 miles everyday, just to get to the nearest high school. Today Kopo hopes to work towards increasing accessibility to primary school education in rural Botswana.
