Major: Comparative American Studies

Katie Wilson is a fourth-year Comparative American Studies major from Berkeley, CA. She is the General Manager of WOBC-FM and has worked as a research assistant for UC Berkeley’s Urban Displacement Project. She is currently working on an honors thesis about New York City’s plan to depopulate Rikers Island—the notorious jail complex—and institute a system of “community-based jails.” She is passionate about creative approaches to social injustices, either through radio or art, and has been working with the arts and writing class at Grafton Correctioal Facility since January, 2018, having designed the anthology the class produced last May.
