John Burnett (b. 1993) is a sound artist and technologist interested in contemporary forms of art as platforms for expression and activism. John uses the areas of music composition and computer science to create technologically augmented concert works and installations that derive their materials from the present environment. He engages in research in generative music and critical evaluations of musical form and organizes contemporary music concerts through the Cleveland-based nonprofit The Syndicate for the New Arts. John is currently in his fourth year at the Oberlin Conservatory and will be attending UC San Diego in the pursuit of a PhD this fall.
