Gabriel Appleby ’16 graduated from Oberlin College with honors in Computer Science and Economics. Within the Economics department, Gabriel’s primary focus was in the economics of education, culminating in his senior thesis examining the effect of district size on student performance. Gabriel’s first exposure to software engineering was as a research assistant for the Oberlin Geology Department, where he helped modernize their data aggregation practices. Gabriel also worked as a Systems Programming teaching assistant in the CompSci department, spent three years as a residential advisor, and became an avid pizza chef at Harkness co-op. Since graduation, Gabriel has been working as a Software Engineer for an aerospace company in Washington, DC. Gabriel has worked to create the technical groundwork for Exactics.
