Student Participant
Major: Comparative American Studies

Musician, composer, recording artist, producer, and storyteller Aaron Kisslinger examines the relationships between music, community, and social change. Aaron has conducted numerous musical oral history projects with the Jewish and Puerto Rican communities in Lorain, Ohio, the American Balkan music community in New York City, and decolonial Afro-Indigenous artists on the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua. Currently a 4th year Comparative American Studies major, Aaron examines Jewish concepts of Sanctuary-creation and identity through music. Aaron believes artists imagine and create the world we want to live in, and he does so by composing and performing original pop music under the name little bear.
