Winter Term 2020 Chronology
|Friday, November 22nd||Online Winter Term Housing Form opens|
|9 a.m., Sunday, December 22||College residences close for all students. This includes students in Village Housing.|
|Noon, Thursday, January 2||Residence halls and Village Housing open for winter term registered students|
|January 3 (dinner)||Stevenson Dining Hall opens (at an additional cost, see below)|
|9 a.m., Wednesday, January 29||Students not enrolled in spring 2020 must vacate their housing|
|9 a.m., Saturday, February 1||Residence Halls open for returning students|
Students may live in their college housing during the winter term period from Thursday, January 2 - Friday, January 31 provided they are on-campus for one of the following reasons:
- Registered (with the registrar) for on-campus winter term project
- An athlete whose team meets during winter term
- Completing research with a department
- Working for an office or department**
- Doing intensive practicing with the Conservatory**
** Must be enrolled on-campus (not London) for both fall and spring semesters in order to be on-campus during winter term
If a student does not fit into one of these categories, they should email to ask for special arrangements to be made.
All students who wish to be on campus during winter term must register using the online Winter Term Housing Form , regardless of whether they are being sponsored by a department.
- Students can register anytime up until one business day (24 hours) before their anticipated arrival date.
The official return date is Saturday, February 1. Students arriving on this date or after do not need to fill out the form.
The campus is shut down during winter shutdown (9 a.m., Sunday, December 22 to noon, Thursday, January 2). This includes all of Village Housing.
Students who are on leave or studying away (including the London Program) during fall or spring must be registered for an on-campus winter term project, doing athletics, or doing research with a department in order to be on-campus. (For those students, being hired by a department or doing conservatory practicing does not grant them permission to stay.)
- Students going on leave in the spring must vacate housing by 9 a.m., Wednesday, January 29.
Dining is open in Stevenson Hall during winter term (beginning January 3rd with dinner), but is not included on the semester meal plan.
Please Note: The central check-in is held at Stevenson-Griswold, Residential Education and Dining Services office, weekdays, 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4:30 p.m. New students and students returning from leave should report to the central check-in location for room keys and information about how to complete a room condition report.
Students who are registered for an on-campus winter-term project and need their ID Card activated should complete the Winter Term Housing form .
If you plan to arrive on January 2, you need to be registered by Noon, January 1, 2020.
All college housing opens at noon on the day prior to the official beginning of winter term. For 2020 this will be noon, January 2.
Students enrolled for an on-campus winter-term project but not enrolled for spring semester must vacate college housing by 9 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2020.
Students not enrolled for spring semester, who are also are not enrolled for an on-campus winter-term project and or who are not an NCAA athlete must vacate college housing by the closing deadline for fall semester ( 9 a.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2019).
