Heather Leigh Brown began working for the Department of Theater in the fall of 2014. Previously, she has worked as a costume designer, manager, technician, and or educator for the University of California at Davis, the University of Kansas at Lawrence, and Calvin College. She has also worked for the Glimmerglass Opera, Syracuse Stage, the American Player’s Theatre, and the Dorset Theatre Festival.

She holds a degree in Technical Production and Design from Western Michigan University, and has an MFA in Costume Design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Heather’s professional life includes freelance fashion design, refashioned/recycled design, writing for the stage, and photography.

She oversees the Oberlin College costume shop and teaches costume construction.
