‘‘The True Cost of Plastics and What Ohio Valley People Are Doing To Counter It,’’ will be presented by Randi Pokladnik, PhD, an environmental scientist, research chemist, teacher, columnist, and a volunteer with the Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition.

Pokladnik’s talk will focus on the proposed ethane cracker plant in Belmont County, a site of immense environmental destruction and injustice. The Ohio Valley Environmental Council has been fighting for environmental and social justice since 1987, and now is focused on the hazards of ethane cracker plants producing plastic from fracked gas.

Turn out to this event to learn from regional activists working for a better world.
