Named for Professor Peter Takács and the composer whose music has been a pivotal source of inspiration throughout his career, this inaugural competition presents standout student pianists in performances of Beethoven.
The Final Round on Sunday is free and open to the public. This round will showcase recital performances of up to six pianists who advance from the closed Saturday round. Pianists will perform two major works by Beethoven.
The competition jury members are Robert Spano, music director of the Atlanta Symphony, and pianist Daniel Shapiro, a Beethoven specialist and professor of piano at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
