In this presentation, Fredy Peccerelli will explore the FAFG’s (Forensic Anthropology Foundation of Guatemala’s) multidisciplinary forensic system and its impact in Guatemala and beyond. Peccerelli is an internationally renowned Forensic Anthropologist, Human Identification expert, and founding member of the FAFG. During the Guatemalan civil armed conflict (1960–1996), an estimated 40,000 people were victims of enforced disappearances. The FAFG was created to respond to the families’ requests for forensic investigation to exhume and identify their loved ones, so they could then bury them with dignity and seek justice and reparations.

Thursday July 22 at 4pm Eastern.
