SmART FUTURES EXHIBITION is a virtual multi-media art and technology exhibition-turned Zine created in collaboration with the Crafting Change Symposium. The Zine brings artists, makers, and hybrid technologists from near and far to explore a wide variety of art using technology as a primary media. Offering not only provocations about the processes, materials, and communities forming around these technologies, this exhibit helps to demystify the artistic/maker experience of digital fabrication tools, and how those tools can apply to an artist, maker or educators work. These timely examples of artistic expression also will reveal the entanglement of social, environmental, technological, economic, and digital fabrication processes in the world of art/making today.
These initiatives and collaborations are designed to foster deeper relationships and increased capacities in the artist-tech-maker sector as well as among students. educators and across institutions of higher education in Northeast Ohio and beyond. This exciting new programming has been developed and implemented by the LCCC’s Campana Center’s Future Artist Lab in collaboration with Oberlin College’s Center for Convergence, with support from the Cleveland Institute of Art and Cleveland’s Artists Archives of the Western Reserve.
