Senior Recital: Chris Dahlke, TIMARA

Presented by Chris Dahlke, TIMARA, in the Firelands Association for the Visual Arts (FAVA). The installation will be up from April 1-9, 2023. During exhibitions FAVA galleries are open Tuesday - Saturday from 11am-5pm and Sunday from 1-5pm.

About the event:

[in]animate explores the vast banks of faded memories humans possess. Through off-set audio-visual looping, this piece seeks the tangible emotional affects memories can have on the present moment given new sensorial or experiential contexts. Dahlke uses digitally abstracted snapshots of nature as well as tape hiss, field recordings, and sparse drones and melodies to explore nostalgia in a modern landscape. The two buttons in the center of the space can be used to move from one auditory “memory” to another or simply fade to silence.
