In this talk, "Re-imagining the African Contemporaneity of Art, " South African artist Khehla Chepape Makgato will discuss the role of African women’s histories in his artistic practice.

While African stories have long been told by outsiders, today Makgato sees himself as part of a new generation of artists telling positive stories from African perspectives.

This event is presented with support from the Art History Baldwin Endowment.
