Permaculture is a design methodology that uses the resilience and diversity of evolved ecosystems as inspiration for creating human-built landscapes. It has special applications in the field of agriculture and urban design. In this workshop, Nick Swetye, executive director of the New Agrarian Center, will teach an introduction to permaculture, and provide insight into how to integrate common elements of permaculture systems on your own property or in your community. The class will include a tour of the 70-acre George Jones Farm and Nature Preserve, so dress appropriately and bring proper footwear.
