Permaculture is a design methodology that uses the resilience and diversity of evolved ecosystems as inspiration for creating human-built landscapes. It has special applications in the field of agriculture and urban design. In this workshop, Nick Swetye, executive director of the New Agrarian Center, will teach an introduction to permaculture, and provide insight into how one might integrate common elements of permaculture systems on their own properties or in their communities. The class will include a tour of the 70-acre George Jones Farm and Nature Preserve, so dress appropriately and bring proper footwear.
