A discussion about pre-20th Century feminist art, theory and practice with a focus on Guerilla Girls, artivism and action groups.
At the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, we believe that diversity and the exposure to many cultures helps shape our students into global leaders. Which is why we’re introducing the Portal Project from Shared Studios at UCCS. Through the use of technology in a creative way, we are bringing together students, teachers, artists and thought-leaders across the world to exchange ideas and develop new perspectives.
The UCCS_Portal installation is hosted by University of Colorado Colorado Springs, the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative at UCCS, and Imagination Celebration. We invite you to explore important issues through honest conversation with people in different countries. With Portals located around the world, you will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and develop quality connections with people in Berlin, Gaza, Yangon, Erbil, Mexico City, and more.
The Portal has moved from the Kraemer Family Library/South Entrance area to UCCS’ newest building—the Ent Center for the Arts. The Ent Center for the Arts - a 92,000 square-foot performing and visual arts complex—was designed to provide a multi-dimensional, multi-venue artistic hub for both the UCCS campus and the regional community.
It’s now home to the professional arts programs of UCCS Presents (the Artist Series Theatreworks, and the Galleries of Contemporary Art) and two of the the Visual and Performing Arts Department’s academic programs.
