SESSION 1: NUTS & BOLTS OF MUSIC COPYRIGHT (12:30-1:45pm)

Learn about the basics of the music industry and copyright law. We’ll discuss fair use, public domain, streaming, licensing, and more. How does the music industry work really – and who gets the credit and why? 

SESSION 2: MUSIC & THE LAW (2-3:30pm)

Want to start a studio or a chamber group, stream your music, license your music for a TV show, or book a bigger gig? Learn about what you need to set yourself up as a non-profit, corporation or LLC, what resources you can use even if you don’t have your own lawyer, and what it really says in that contract and whether you should sign it. 

SESSION 3: CRASH COURSE IN MUSIC COPYRIGHT (4-5pm)

Introduction to music copyright and entrepreneurship.
