College second-year Noah Hamaoui won a research grant from the National Geographic Society and The Nature Conservancy to conduct a project on Invasive Species Control & Native Species Restoration at Plum Creek. She calls on students, residents, and workers in Oberlin to come together on a Community Action Day to do manual removal of Japanese Knotweed at Plum Creek, followed by planting native species.

In partnership with Jennifer Reeves, Stormwater Coordinator for the City of Oberlin, she will host two informational meetings to further explain invasive species' consequences and freshwater conservation. People interested in participating should attend one of the two meetings and meet at the AJLC at 10:45 am on Saturday, April 22nd, for the Community Action Day.
