Learn more about a unique fellowship opportunity for students at the 2018 Stephen and Cynthia Rubin Institute for Music Criticism.

Mike Telin, Executive Editor of and Instructor of Oberlin's music criticism courses, will host information sessions about this program.

The fourth biennial Rubin Institute takes place at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, October 25-29, 2018. Application deadline is April 30, 2018.

This all-expenses-paid trip to San Francisco and opportunity to compete for $10,000 prize is now accepting applications. All Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music levels and majors are encouraged to apply! 

This biennial institute was founded in 2012 at Oberlin Conservatory as a means of supporting and sustaining the craft of music criticism. Each institute, brings together leading music journalists, renowned musicians, and aspiring young writers, combining the wisdom and insight of today's highly esteemed critics, the artistry and daring of acclaimed musicians, and the energy and promise of tomorrow's music journalists.
